LAURA HAVENS HALL
President and Owner

Laura founded Havens & Company, Inc. in 2007. During the company's start up, she helped organize employee responsibilities and activities, investigated employer compliance issues, and completed market research and information analysis. Laura is a licensed insurance agent and specializes in life, AD&D, disability, dental, vision, executive, and BTA benefits.

She has extensive training in ERISA and tax laws pertaining to employee benefits particularly in compliance and fiduciary duties. Currently, her focus applies to RFP analysis, contract renewal, and client services with a focus on compliance and legal aspects.

Laura is located in Lexington, Kentucky. She holds a B.S.B.A. from Xavier University, a J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law, and a Masters of Law in Taxation with an Employee Benefits Law Certificate from Georgetown University Law Center.  Laura is an active member of the Junior League of Lexington. In addition, she is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association Taxation Section and the Women Lawyers' Association of the Fayette County Bar Association.

DIANE GREEN

Chief Operating Officer

Diane has been with Havens & Company since 2003, serving as the Chief Operating Officer. She heads up Operations, managing the accounting, tax, treasury, human resources, legal, and IT functions for the organization. Diane manages financial performance by analyzing all financials. She is the main spokesperson representing the company at conferences and events throughout New England and the U.S. She leads all branding efforts for the website and collateral and she’s led efforts to certify Havens & Company as a fully recognized Woman’s Business Enterprise (WBE), represented by WBENC and NWBOC.

 

Before joining Havens & Company in 1999 she co-founded Rockport Equity management, managing a $40 million portfolio of vastly diverse businesses ranging from REITs, to IPOs and entrepreneurial ventures, to the sponsorship of a #1 ranked USTA tennis player. In 1995, she was Chief of Staff to the Chairman/CEO at Cyrk, Inc., a billion-dollar full-service promotional marketing company for Fortune 100 companies including PepsiCo, Mars/M&Ms, and Ty Inc./Beanie Babies. Before Cyrk, Inc., Diane honed her strategic analytical and financial skills at:

·         Rule Industries, as the Manager of West Coast and Canadian distribution facilities;

·         Smith Levenson/Turan Corporation, where she represented the firm during Guatemalan bond transactions;

·         Paine Webber/Mosely Hallgarten, and

·         Charterhouse Group International, her very first position after graduating from Boston College.

 

Diane’s leadership has spanned three boards: Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, Women’s Network Advisory Board Member, 2015-Present, The Boston Club, Corporate Board Committee Member, 2016 and Boston Symphony Orchestra, Business Committee Member, 2012-2013. She is active in her community, with memberships including: Ellevate, 2014-Present, The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce Women’s Network, 2015-Present, The Boston Club, 2015-Present and The Commonwealth Institute, 2011-2012.

 

She received her BA in Political Science at Boston College and she remains very active there today, serving in leadership roles on the Council for the Women of Boston College, mentoring and speaking at their various events. Diane holds her Life, Accident and Health License including Long-Term Care. Previously she held her Series 7 & 63 licenses. She resides north of Boston, with her early roots in New York. Her interests include public speaking, networking, mentoring, hiking and paddle boarding.

TERRY HAVENS
Head of Business Development and Owner

Terry is widely known as a leader and innovator in the group insurance arena. He has contributed to the development of group life, accident, and disability programs for major corporations. Terry’s proven processes and techniques continue to resonate through Havens & Company, a highly skilled and dedicated sales and service organization.

Terry entered the insurance business directly out of college, focusing on executive benefits and estate planning. In 1981, he joined E.F. Hutton to develop a mass-marketed Universal Life Insurance product and was responsible for the creation of Group Universal Life Insurance programs for both insurers and major employers.

By 1991, Terry’s special products expertise expanded to disability and accident plans. He has helped to develop and introduce several significant life, accident, and disability product enhancements, including the first group life insurance plan to offer Accelerated Death Benefits.

Terry has been involved in large group employee benefit cases since 1980. He has initiated plan enhancements for many Fortune 100 clients, including: Abbott Laboratories, American Electric Power, AT&T, Bridgestone, Budget, Chrysler, Digital Equipment, FedEx, Ford, GenCorp, Honeywell, IBM, Ingram Micro, Mead, NCR, R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co., United Technologies, Volkswagen, and 7-Eleven.

Terry is located in Naples, Florida. Currently, his focus is carrier relationships, marketing, and aggregation management. Recent collaborations with IBM, KeyMRO, and Corporate United have led to product enhancements in the group life, vision, dental, and mobility areas. Moreover, Terry has recently been focusing on product innovation within the industry.

LYNNE A. NOEL
In-House Counsel and Senior Consultant

Lynne joined Havens & Company from Unum, where she excelled during more than 8 years. Lynne is well regarded for her extensive business experience and her successful leadership in the development of powerful market leading initiatives. During her tenure at Unum, she served in multiple roles, ranging from being one of Unum's first national accounts disability underwriters, to compliance and product development, to corporate counsel.

As an attorney in Unum's Advanced Risk Solution business unit, she was responsible for developing customized solutions for large clients, including large, complex governmental entities, as well as developing profitable growth. Lynne's technical expertise includes extensive knowledge of life and disability business, products, and finance, with a particular emphasis on alternative risk management and benefits financing strategies. In addition, Lynne is well versed in the laws pertaining to employee benefits such as ERISA, tax, and state insurance law (including statutory disability plan laws and regulations).

Lynne utilizes her deep legal, compliance and underwriting background to ensure that Havens & Company's clients are provided with unique and powerful solutions. Lynne holds a B.A. degree from Smith College and a J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law.

STEPHEN HAVENS
Business Analyst

Stephen joined Havens & Company, Inc. in 2011 as a business analyst. His position encompasses financial and trend analysis and reporting. Stephen’s area of expertise is researching Fortune 1000 companies and identifying and analyzing the needs and/or gaps in the companies’ current non-medical insurance benefit programs. Most recently this has focused on the expanding number of voluntary plan options being marketed and developing a comprehensive mode for analysis.

Stephen holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.  He was a top varsity tennis player on Notre Dame's Division 1 team for all four years.  Stephen resides in Colorado with his white golden retriever, Henry.
